The main building has been a hotel since 1886, but in days gone by it has been among other things, a bank, an oast house and the bar was the stables. Above the bar were the corn and hay lofts, which are now some of the bedrooms. |
It is owned by the Stucley family who reside at the nearby Hartland Abbey and has been run by the Johns family for the last 40 years and is at present in the hands of the third generation of the family. Resident Managers: Chris and Jill Johns.
The hotel is open throughout the year except for Christmas and offers a warm family welcome at any time. The hotel has a large dining room offering table d’hote evening meals and a hearty english breakfast. There is a peaceful residents lounge to contemplate the day ahead and a public bar to enjoy a meal, take in the view or escape the wind!
Families are very welcome and we will do our best to help you with anything you require to make your stay more comfortable.
